When to use it, and when not to use it?

Good to know: extra calcium is not always necessary – in fact, too much calcium can actually be harmful.

• Advice from your veterinarian or nutritionist

❌ Do not use in case of:

• Commercial chunks or ready-made KVV that are already complete

• KVVs that contain bone (usually already 15–20%)

• Growing puppies without medical advice

• Dogs with kidney problems or at risk of calcium excess

💡 Too much calcium can lead to skeletal problems, kidney strain, and mineral imbalances – especially in young dogs or dogs with medical conditions. Not sure? Ask your veterinarian or a nutritionist for advice!

How do you use eggshell powder?

Always use eggshell powder in conjunction with a balanced meal. With raw or cooked boneless food, it's important to maintain a balanced calcium/phosphorus diet.

Dosage per day (approximate):

• Small dog (up to 10 kg): ½ teaspoon (approx. 1.5 g)

• Medium dog (10–25 kg): 1 teaspoon (approx. 3 g)

• Large dog (25 kg+): 1.5 teaspoon (approx. 4.5 g)

👉 For BARF or fresh meat without bones:
Use approximately 0.5 grams of eggshell powder per 100 grams of meat (without bone).

💡 Marley's tip: Mix well with the food. If your dog is a picky sniffer, make it wet.
